Making the Connection

Within my species are 400 breeds. What is a breed? Definition: 13.Genetics. a relatively homogenous group of animals within a species, developed and maintained by humans. My breed is the miniature schnauzer as you may have read in my profile and earlier post.
I have had the privilege of helping my species communicate with another species called homo sapiens, understand my species, a.k.a dog, better. Within homo sapiens, a.k.a human, there are many "breeds" for lack of a better word, smaller groups of humans who develop similar traits and characteristics that differentiate from other small human groups. Some human groups have the trait of not liking dogs. I was lucky to be able to help one such group of humans begin to understand dogs better and perhaps even like us! Or at least like me!
Plus we have more similarities between our species than you think! Read more about this surprising discovery! http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/12/1207_051207_dog_genome.html
