Max the Dog Diplomat

I am Max, a miniature schnauzer. I lived from November 1999 to September 2008. I enriched the lives of many people with laughter and compassion and was happy to do so. As a dog, it came naturally.

My Holiday Gift

I would prefer this memory to be a blur hence the blurred photos. Here I am in my holiday gift. A cashmere sweater from a Tse sample/overstock sale. I have heard my female companion talk about cashmere sweaters for dogs for many years and chuckle about them. But obviously at the sale price she could not resist. She however did resist buying the complete "twinset" of the sweaters for dogs. She chose not to go "over-the-top" and buy the matching black cashmere cardigan. I only received the torture of the cashmere t-shirt. It's just too much.

Happy Chanukhah II

Quite a pretty ritual isn't it? Again, as always, I don't know what all this means but it clearly a mish-mash of stuff going on here. All I know is that it shows that we can all enjoy each other's holidays, especially here in our little sliver of mixed cultures and religions. Look how happy we all are! Cozy and freaky. I am a little disturbed by the burqa she is wearing but understand she is trying to make some point. The cowboy hat I understand was a last resort because the traditional kipa could not be found in the happy room. The happy room is "happy" because he gets to keep it a mess.

This post was published as quickly as possible ( I did lapse and fail to post the Chanukhah lighting yesterday. ) for a friend who seemed to be asking for it.

Merry Christmas!

A Wall Street Christmas, the spiritualism of consumer spending driving the economy in the name of Jesus. It's all confusing to me but what do I know.

All I know is that I want to eat this dove of peace sugar cookie from Amy's Bread set so nicely in this rosemary bush trimmed like a Chistmas tree.

So close.

Wet nose and salivating for cookie.
Denied.

Happy Christmas Shopping!

This is the best looking Santa I have ever seen. He is the Santa at ABC Carpet, etc. etc. The big store with the fancy, nice overpriced home stylized goods. Plus one of the best chocolate boutiques in town, at least the best chocolate bars.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

But this is my favorite Christmas store, rather store period, all year-round. It's Whiskers in the East Village. It is a holistic pet store and all my tasty treats come from there. Plus the natural supplements and remedies that help me cope with my sensitive digestive system. What a nice Christmas tree full of dogs!

The best Christmas window display too. I can't wait to see what I get from Christmas!
Here it is: 235 East 9th Street, between 2nd & 3rd Avenues in Manhattan.

Baguette

Here I am modeling the EPI baguette from Amy's Bread. A traditional French baguette made in a fancy pattern. It smells and tastes good. Surprisingly I took this bit of insanity well and didn't move. It was because I wanted it to end as soon as possible. I am not dumb, I am learning from all the previous similar photo sessions, proof of which you have seen here my blog. This photo incident sparked a debate about whether the female is in fact insane.

Playboy Bunny Pose

Or so I am told. It's just comfortable for me.

Happy Chanukhah!

With these delicious butter cookies placed on my paws and unable to eat them I salivate. These cookies are from Amy's Bread, the human's favorite bakery.

Now the stuff-on-my-dog humor begins.
And I can't even eat them after all this. What's the meaning of Chanukhah? Gift giving? I've never seen any "The Meaning of Chanukhah" TV films. Is it about hope? Peace? War? Shopping? As far as I can tell it is about shopping and cookies. I hope I get something other than cookies to salivate over.

Fear

I keep hearing the people talk about this dog they saw the other day and how they want to bring one such dog into my home.

It is this kind of dog, a pug and shi tzu mix. Looks like a brussels griffon but is not neurotic like a brussels griffon. Something for everyone I suppose. I have fear that I will have to share my home and my pack. It's not easy for me to adjust to new situations. My home has always been my place of peace. How can I sleep all day if I have to watch what an intruder is up to? I have been through such torture twice but fortunately for me it didn't work out with the new gals for numerous reasons. Let's hope for a repeat experience in the future.
